Eldorado High School is proud to announce the approval of its new Health Science and Technology Nursing College and Career Pathway under the Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Act. This means Eldorado CUSD 4 can now offer College and Career Pathway Endorsements to eligible students, recognizing their achievements in specific fields that prepare them for both college and careers.
"We're really excited to bring this awesome opportunity to our students," said Cody Cusic, Principal of Eldorado High School. "This Nursing pathway will give our students the skills they need for success in college and their future careers."
In this new pathway, students will dive into challenging coursework focused on nursing. They'll graduate not just with a diploma, but also with a head start in nursing careers or further studies in health sciences. These endorsements are a big deal for Eldorado High School, showing our dedication to preparing students for whatever comes next, whether it's more school or a job in healthcare.
At Eldorado High School, students can start taking college classes while still in high school. They can use these credits to kickstart their college or career plans after graduation. And thanks to a partnership with Southeastern Illinois College, students can even get a jump on becoming Certified Nursing Assistants. They'll learn theory and get hands-on experience that prepares them for their CNA Boards.
"We're thrilled to award our first College and Career Pathway Endorsement to a member of the 2024 graduating class," said Rachel Anderson, EHS Guidance Counselor, “and we are exciting to begin the process of adding more CCPE programs.”
Eldorado High School is all about giving students a well-rounded education that sets them up for success in college, careers, and beyond. Our Career and Technical Education department offers a wide range of courses to match every student's interests and goals.

The Eldorado Community Unit School District #4 is excited to announce that we will be offering free breakfast and lunch to all students again this school year. Eldorado School Board has taken the remarkable step of waiving book fees for all students again this school year.
The decision to waive book fees comes as part of the Eldorado CUSD #4's commitment to ensuring equal educational opportunities for all students. By eliminating book fees, the district aims to alleviate the financial burden on families and promote an inclusive learning environment where every student can access essential educational materials without hindrance.
Furthermore, the continuance of free breakfast and lunch services underscores the district's dedication to fostering the overall well-being and health of its students. Recognizing the vital role of nutrition in a student's academic performance, this initiative seeks to eliminate food insecurity within the school community and guarantee that no student goes hungry during the school day.
