Eldorado Community Unit School District #4 is proud to announce continued improvements in student outcomes across all three of its schools, as shown in the newly released 2025 Illinois School Report Card. Eldorado High School’s graduation rate has reached its highest level in recent years, and both Eldorado Middle School and Eldorado Elementary School saw notable gains in state test scores compared to the previous year. These achievements underscore the district’s continued commitment to student success and educational excellence.

Superintendent Cody Cusic praised the district-wide progress. “We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for these accomplishments,” Cusic said. “These report card results show that hard work and our community’s support are helping our kids reach new heights. It’s a real team effort, and we’re just getting started.”

Eldorado High School: Graduation Rate Climbs Higher

Eldorado High School’s four-year graduation rate improved to record 97% this year, up from around 90% last year.  This is the highest graduation rate for Eldorado High School. “Our high school students are graduating at a higher rate than ever, and that’s a testament to their dedication and the support from teachers and families,” Superintendent and High School Principal Cusic noted. In addition to the rising graduation rate, the high school also reported encouraging trends in student readiness. More ninth graders are on track to graduate on time, and an increasing number of graduates are pursuing college or vocational training after high school – clear signs that Eldorado High is preparing its students for success beyond graduation. We continue to find ways to expand both our college and career pathways allowing all our students to find their path after graduation.

Eldorado Middle School: Strong Gains in Reading and Math

Eldorado Middle School showed substantial improvement in state testing scores, reflecting the school’s focus on academic growth. On the 2025 Illinois Report Card, the percentage of middle school students meeting or exceeding standards in English Language Arts (ELA) jumped to over 57% – a significant increase from the prior year. Math proficiency scores also rose, with roughly 46% of students now meeting or exceeding math standards.  The middle school is now scoring over the state average in ELA.  These gains highlight a positive upward trend in both core subjects. “Our students’ achievement in both ELA and Mathematics has shown meaningful gains this year — a testament to the unwavering commitment of our teachers, the perseverance of our learners, and the support of our community. Together, we are raising the bar and proving that when we set high expectations, focused actions follow.”

Eldorado Elementary School: Early Academic Success on the Rise

At Eldorado Elementary School, young learners made encouraging strides in both reading and math. The latest report card shows that nearly 39% of elementary students met or exceeded expectations in mathematics, an improvement over the previous year’s performance. Reading (ELA) proficiency also climbed to roughly 37% of students achieving or surpassing grade-level standards. While the district continues to strive for higher proficiency rates, these upward trends at the elementary level indicate that foundational skills are strengthening. Elementary School Principal Sheila Foster commended the elementary school’s achievements: “We have been working very hard to improve our reading and math skills.  With support from our School Improvement Grant we have been able to provide additional professional development opportunities, new curriculum, and supplemental materials.  These scores reflect the commitment from our teachers, students, parents, and our community.

Superintendent Cusic emphasized that across all grade levels, Eldorado CUSD 4 is moving in the right direction. He expressed gratitude to teachers, support staff, parents, and community members for their role in the district’s progress. “Our educators have truly gone above and beyond to support students, and our families and community partners make that possible,” Cusic said. “These successes belong to everyone in our school community.”

Looking ahead, Eldorado CUSD 4 plans to build on this momentum. “We will continue to challenge ourselves to get even better,” Cusic promised. “From elementary through high school, we want to keep raising the bar. The goal is that every student – at every grade level – has the opportunities and support to achieve their very best. We’re excited for what the future holds for our school and community.”
