Eldorado Community Unit School District #4 has been awarded $58,346 through the Illinois State Board of Education’s FY2027 Teacher Vacancy Grant Program. The statewide program supports districts in recruiting, preparing, and retaining educators while addressing persistent teacher shortages.
Eldorado CUSD #4 plans to use the funding to continue its Grow Your Own partnership with EdWell, support efforts to close teacher vacancy and endorsement gaps, and invest in initiatives that recognize and retain current staff.
“We are excited to continue building on the work we have started through the Teacher Vacancy Grant,” said Superintendent Cody Cusic. “This funding allows us to invest in our Grow Your Own partnership with EdWell, help prepare individuals from our own community to become teachers, and continue working to close vacancy gaps in high-need areas. Just as importantly, it gives us another opportunity to invest in and recognize the amazing staff we already have at Eldorado. Recruiting great people matters, but keeping great people matters just as much.”
