Eldorado High School Athletic Hall of Fame

The Eldorado High School Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes those teams and individuals with outstanding credentials and achievements, the committee of unnamed personnel will decide if nominees are eligible for entry in the hall of fame. Committee members shall induct members/teams into the Hall of Fame every “even” year during the first Eldorado game during the Eldorado Holiday Tournament.

Committee Members

  • Principal

  • Athletic Director

  • Boys Head Coach

  • Girls Head Coach

  • 2-4 at-large members

    • While there are no explicit qualifications for “at-large” committee members, care

      shall be exercised to select members who have knowledge of the athletic history

      of EHS and representative of the various periods of that history.

    • Members of the committee must abstain from voting if a member of his/her immediate family

      or relative is proposed.

Nominations

  • Nominations for consideration may be made by the Selection Committee or by public nominations.

  • Nominations can be made by anyone using a Google form that will be available online.

  • While nominations can be made by anyone, self-nominations or unsigned/anonymous nominations will not

    be accepted

  • Nominations must be made by the deadline before each “even” year of the

    EHT

  • The selection committee shall have the discretion to narrow the field of nominees.

  • Nominations forms will be kept for 6 years and reviewed at the committee meeting if candidate is not inducted for the current class.

Eligibility

Athletes, coaches, teams, administrators, or supporters, living or deceased, shall be eligible for induction subject to the criteria below.

Athletes

  • Eligible 10 years after graduation (2014 graduate for 2024 induction)

  • Must be an EHS graduate

  • Must have lettered in one or more varsity sports

  • Other attributes

    • Athletic ability, character, leadership, school record

    • Positive standard of ethics after their time at EHS

    • Conference/ State award

***Achievements should be on record and verified by copies of news clippings, yearbooks, certificate of awards, etc.
****Certain awards were less common in the earlier eras and documentation of achievements might not exist, especially for older nominees. This should be taken into consideration.

Coaches

  • Any coach with 10+ years’ experience at EHS is eligible

  • The nominee must be inactive

  • Other attributes that have been demonstrated

  • Coaching ability

  • Loyalty to EHS

  • Leadership/character

  • Athletic expertise

  • Significant contribution to their teams and to the sports they coached

  • Same ethical life standards after their time at EHS

Teams

  • 10 years after season

  • Championship teams that attained record status

Administration/Staff/Supporters/Volunteers

  • Exceptional Leadership

  • Character/Passion

  • Loyalty to school/program

  • Support for the success of all sports and athletes

Voting Procedure

The Selection Committee shall review all candidates based on information available at the time of the meeting.

After open discussion about candidates, the Committee shall call for a vote for the purpose of selecting a slate of inductees to vote upon. To be listed on the slate of final nominees to be voted upon, the Athletic Hall of Fame the nominee must receive an 75% approval rating from all voting members.
